Concerned about road safety in Chacewater?

A number of residents have recently raised concerns about driver behaviour around the zebra crossing in Chacewater village and the increasing volume of traffic passing through the village.

While Cornwall Council’s current collision data does not identify the crossing as a priority site for intervention, residents are encouraged to report any dangerous driving, traffic offences, or near misses through the appropriate channels.

Reports can be made to Devon & Cornwall Police online or by calling 101. Residents with dashcam, cycle camera or mobile phone footage may also submit evidence through Operation Snap, which allows the police to review and, where appropriate, take action in relation to moving traffic offences.

Making reports helps ensure concerns are formally recorded and assists the authorities in building an evidence base for future road safety work.
