Who We Are

Chacewater Energy Group is a volunteer-led local organisation based in Chacewater, Cornwall, committed to helping our local parish area become more energy self-reliant, sustainable and resilient.  

What We Aim For

• Reducing carbon emissions locally, and supporting Cornwall’s wider goals for a greener future.  
• Helping households, businesses and community buildings lower energy use: through better insulation, energy-efficient retrofit advice, and exploring renewable technologies.  
• Promoting low-carbon transport (like electric vehicles), raising awareness of sustainable energy options, and helping people engage with how energy is generated, distributed and used.  

What We Do

• Events & Community Shows
  We organise regular events such as the Green Energy Show, Energy & EV Days, Insulation / Green Building Advice days, where residents can meet local experts and see what’s possible.  
• Annual Summits
  We host the Great Cornwall Green Energy Summit, where stakeholders from across Cornwall (e.g. energy companies, councils, education, community groups) share learning, debate, and explore emerging technologies and policies.  
• Advice & Resources
  We provide information, advice and resources — for example on insulation, sustainable heating, energy performance, retrofit options. These are aimed at householders, small businesses, and community premises.  
• Partnerships & Network Building
  We work with Cornwall Climate Action Network (CCAN), Cornwall Council, renewable energy providers, and local parish / community bodies to share ideas, influence policy, gain support, and connect people.  

Chacewater Community Energy Group is a community organisation set up to provide advice and support to make our community more energy self-reliant. 

The Group has produced an Energy Advice leaflet for Chacewater residents which is available in digital and printed forms.

The annual Green Energy Day is a key fixture in the Chacewater calendar and draws many organisations and companies keen to demonstrate electric vehicles, renewable technologies and energy-efficient products. 

Chacewater Energy Group has held a successful Energy Efficiency Debate Day with local politicians and routinely holds an Environmental Question Time with political candidates ahead of each General Election. 

Chacewater Energy Group is also an active member of the Cornwall Climate Action Network along with twenty groups from all over the county.
